Pastor Joshua Tyson was born to be a leader. Despite not growing up in the church, Pastor Josh’s journey to faith began as he faced significant adversity in his early years of life. He found himself seeking solace and guidance beyond his immediate circumstances and was drawn to a profound connection with God.

Baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit at the age 12, Pastor Josh served from 1999-2011 at New Hope Institutional Baptist Church in Amityville, NY under the leadership of the late Pastor John A. Jackson. As a young and enthusiastic leader, Pastor Joshua had the opportunity to begin an Annual Youth Explosion in 2007 that helped to cultivate the youth of New Hope and the surrounding communities, and fostered experience on how to worship and be free in Christ. He was also afforded the opportunity to lead a plethora of praise teams and youth choirs for several years, where he has trained voices on the techniques of harmony and flowing in the Holy Spirit while facilitating worship.

Pastor Joshua has preached a message of hope, salvation and love both inside and outside of church. In 2011 he transitioned from his home church to help serve at Olive Branch Ministries where he was licensed as a Minister. In 2014, he served as Minister and Worship Leader at Bethel Christian Center in Massapequa, NY where God allowed him to operate in his gifting. In 2021 God transitioned Pastor Josh and his family to serve under Pastors Kyle and Rachel Watkins of Kingdom Culture Church. Under this powerful ministry Pastor Josh was cultivated, installed, and sent to serve as the Senior Pastor of Made Whole Nation in 2022.​

 

In the secular arena, Pastor Josh has been employed by Northwell Health Systems for 14 years within the Revenue Cycle where he is Certified Coding Specialist. Pastor Joshua holds an Associate Degree in Health Information Management as well as Associates Degree in Biblical Studies. He also works as the CEO of his own photography company: Joshua Tyson Photography. Pastor Josh has been married to the lovely Serena Tyson for 14 years. Together, God has Blessed their union with two handsome sons Ezekiel and Jonah, as well as one beautiful daughter, Serenity.​

 

Pastor Joshua along with his wife Co-Pastor Serena planted Made Whole Nation In July 2022. Their mission is to share the teachings of God with all of His people. Through various outreach efforts, they have made a significant impact on the Hempstead community and they have now just moved the church to Amityville in May 2025. Pastor Joshua firmly believes that God cares about every aspect of a person’s being and calls us to pursue wholeness.
